Timothy John Lewis No. 190 Council Installation Meeting

On Wednesday 26th. September 2018 Timothy John Lewis Council held its Installation Meeting at the Masonic Hall Chorley. There being limited parking in Cunliffe Street the Brethren parked their cars in adjacent car parks and took a short walk to the Hall to be greeted with a warm welcome and better yet a warming cup of coffee.

The Brethren stood to order in respect of departed merit whilst the organist played 'Abide with me' a fitting tribute as Worshipful Brother Moxey had entertained the brethren as Council Organist for many a meeting.

The next item on the agenda was to Install Worshipful Brother Geoffrey Catterall Past Grand Junior Deacon as Worshipful Master of the Council. The ceremony was conducted in a manner we have come to expect from our vastly experienced Worshipful Master John Forster. The newly Installed Master proceeded to Invest and appoint his offices for the ensuing year before which he invested the Immediate Past Master and thanked him for his work in the past year and of course the Installation Ceremony.

The District Grand Prefect asked the District Grand Director of Ceremony to present Right Worshipful William Richard Seddon Past District Grand Prefect, and Council Senior Warden, to him. The District Grand Prefect Invested Right Worshipful Brother Seddon with the collarette of a Past District Grand Prefect of West Lancashire, explaining that he was the first recipient of the collarette although he was the second Past District Grand Prefect, the first Past District Grand Prefect of West Lancashire moving onward and upwards, Most Worshipful Brother Thomas Firth Jackson Grand Master.

There being no further business, the Worshipful Master rose for the first, second and third time, the District Grand Prefect gave greetings on behalf of the Grand and District Grand Officers. The Worshipful Master rose for the fourth time. The Worshipful Master closed the Council. The District Grand Director of Ceremony called the Brethren to order whilst the Worshipful Master, the District Grand Prefect and his Deputy retired.

After the now ubiquitous photo shoot we adjourned to the bar/lounge for a refreshing aperitif and soon a delicious two course luncheon was enjoyed by all. The toasts were short and accompanied by 'Fire' which is the norm  in Timothy John Lewis Council. The responses were equally short and before long we were making our way back home another spledid morning of Allied Masonic Masonry over.
